A fixture of NEST is the personal auction, where anyone, ‘lee, ‘ler, top, bottom, voyeur, etc, can offer themselves up to negotiate with their auction winner to set up a scene.
Here’s how that all works! You offer yourself up for auction by filling out a card detailing some information about you, and what you’re offering. When it’s auction time, our Auctioneer calls you to the auction stage, and extolls your virtues, reading the information from the card, occasionally asking you questions to clarify information, and then, they start taking bids! People have been known to do all sorts of things to entice bidders to raise their bids, and the audience has also been known to encourage those up for auction to demonstrate what their skills are!
The highest bidder and the auctioned now have an opportunity to get together and to discuss what might happen. Winning an auction is NOT A GUARANTEE to play, we’re merely facilitating bringing people together.
So – how do you get the money to bid on these fine folks? NEST has its own money, Rhino Bucks, which is used for the auction. We do not use actual currency. Everyone gets a set amount of money at registration. You can also earn money by helping us setup/teardown, participating in any of the ice breaker games, teaching a class, leading a demo, leading an event, helping Lee & Amanda make things happen, and more!
